About Me

Hello, I’m Berna Presto!

I work as a data scientist in finance and insurance, now based in Melbourne, with a degree in Statistics from the University of the Philippines. I’ve been analyzing serious stuff since 2011, but this blog is not that.

Before moving to Australia, I spent nearly ten years living in Singapore – a place that will always feel like a second home. Now, I’m rediscovering what it means to start fresh, build a new life, and figure things out one moment (and one meal) at a time.

I’ve felt drawn to the world beyond my own for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I’d flip through my dad’s travel albums from Japan and get lost in books about faraway countries and cultures. Even then, I knew I was meant to explore not just places, but moments, moods, and the small, lovely details that make a trip stick with you long after you’ve come home.

My love for writing started long before I could make sense of statistical theories. I wouldn’t call myself a writer and you’ll probably agree once you’ve read through this blog. But I write anyway, because some stories feel better when you put them into words.

This space is my little corner of the internet where I keep those memories. It’s part travel diary, part food journal, and part reminder that even the quietest adventures are worth remembering. It’s not always polished or perfectly planned (just like my trips), but it’s filled with the things I love most: storytelling, food, and cities that surprise me.

If you love getting lost on purpose, queuing for snacks, chasing the last bit of golden light, or finding comfort in unfamiliar places – welcome. You’re in the right place.

Come along for the ride! 🙂
