Island hopping in El Nido Palawan

Our family spent a full day on an island hopping tour with Skipper Charters on our recent trip to El Nido, Palawan. It was an incredible day of swimming, snorkelling, and relaxing in the most beautiful spots around Bacuit Bay.

The tour began at Frangipani where the crew picked us up. It rained really hard the day before and we woke up to a still gloomy sky, but the weather became pleasant as the morning progressed. It was truly a wonderful day.

This one’s one of my favourite stops on the tour. The gorgeous waters, the towering cliffs surrounding the lake, majestic rock formations, all this and more make the Big Lagoon truly breathtaking.

It was impossible for us to swim across this vastness so we rented a kayak and spent an hour exploring. The tours come here on scheduled basis to control the traffic. There were few people kayaking with us that time so I guess it really just is perfect timing too.

We checked Cathedral cave too on the way.

We stopped at a private island for lunch. The crew prepared a generous spread of barbecue and seafood while we swim and play at the beach.

We continued exploring more beaches and snorkelling sites and finally made the last stop at Papaya Beach. We spent the rest of the time just swimming and relaxing. Oh every bit of El Nido is stunning and you won’t ever get tired soaking in its glowing waters!

What’s best about this tour is it was tailored to our preferences, ran at our own pace, and designed to avoid the crowds. The crew also suggested the best locations from the tours ABCD combined.  It is pricey compared to going with the outrigger boats but the benefits certainly outweighed the expense. I’d do it every time I’m back in El Nido.
